LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PlasmaTech (Pink Sheets:PMAH) announced that its products have been
specified to be deployed in a total of 30 gold mines throughout South
America for worker safety and emergency response.
“By working with companies like
1st Choice Security Solutions, PlasmaTech expects to
accelerate achievement of its global sales initiatives”
PlasmaTech anticipates that each mine will install a minimum of six
PlasmaTech wireless hand-held HMU900 data collection devices and a
minimum of three 900 Prime fixed control devices. PlasmaTech has already
delivered its first system, and it is fully functional.
The PlasmaTech solution enhances worker safety and emergency response in
the event of an industrial accident necessitating evacuation of the
mine. Each miner entering the mine wears an RFID (radio frequency
identification) tag, enabling PlasmaTech’s 900 Prime device to gather
data and wirelessly transmit the data to a computerized personnel
tracking system.
In any evacuation emergency, emergency response teams must know who has
safely evacuated a mine and what personnel remains in the mine. This can
be easily accomplished using PlasmaTech’s wireless hand-held MHU device.
With all miners instructed to muster in a specific safe location as far
as 3,000 feet from any of multiple 900 Prime readers, PlasmaTech’s
hand-held data collection device enables emergency personnel to quickly
determine the whereabouts of all workers.
In the event of an emergency, first responders can often determine
within minutes—instead of hours or even days—who is safely out of the
mine and who is not. Shortened response time typically translates to
increased survival rate in any such event.
“This is a world-class example of how PlasmaTech’s products can help
solve real issues and possibly save lives,” stated Marvin Williams, CEO
of PlasmaTech. “The installation also demonstrates our ability to add
value to both passive and active RFID solutions. We expect these South
American installations will serve to showcase how PlasmaTech’s
technology can be put to work to provide additional safety to mines
throughout the world.”
Management expressed its appreciation to 1st Choice Security
Solutions Inc., with whom it worked closely in integrating PlasmaTech’s
products within existing RFID solutions. “By working with companies like
1st Choice Security Solutions, PlasmaTech expects to
accelerate achievement of its global sales initiatives,” added Williams.
